Sherman Hill Farm was created in 1947 on rolling land between the two branches of the Westport River. The historic Harbor View Farm, overlooking the Westport River and Atlantic Ocean, was consolidated with Sherman Hill Farm into one dairy farm operation in 1998. Both farms sit on high ridges and benefit from the salt-air climate and prevailing ocean breezes. The farms include barns, outbuildings, 120 milking cows plus dry and young stock. In 2006, focus shifted from fluid milk to artisan cheeses – utilizing the productive soils, grasses, and climate. Today, Shy Brothers Farm® is an award-winning producer of four craft cheeses: Charlotty, Hannahbells®, Cloumage®, and mozzarella curd. Included in the offering is farm equipment, livestock, feed, cheese-related inventory & equipment, a single-family house, a two-family residence, barns and support structures, and the profitable and award-winning Shy Brothers Farm® cheese business. The listing is offered in full as 2 non-contiguous farms.
